36 teams finally selected for 2018.

Arguably the biggest single day sporting event in the East Midlands, the race also boasts of being the most popular cycle road race in the country. This year in addition to the 38 teams accepted to take the start amongst the 180 man field; itself a record for any British cycle race  11 teams totalling over another 60 riders have this year had to be disappointed. As befits such a boast the event prides itself that it brings to Britain each year a diverse and wide ranging field from across Europe and beyond and this year is no exception given nationalities represented amongst the names provisionally submitted by teams.

Until the conclusion of team registration on the afternoon prior to the race on 21st April 2018, the actual names of those participating as members of each team remain unconfirmed, however notable names known to be starting include Ed Clancy, multi World and Olympic Champion; former World Junior Cyclo-cross Champion and winner of the Junior Paris-Roubaix just 12 months ago, Tom Pidcock will face known winners of semi classic races this year from continental Europe, all making an exciting mix.
